This capped off a very decadent day. It was perfect. http://culinary-adventures-with-cam.blogspot.com/2012/06/food-matters-project-chocolate-cherry.html Thanks for picking this, Margarita. Yum.
This weeks recipe inspired us to make a unique chocolate and fruit dessert – date “brownies”! It’s a Bittman-style recipe that can be adapted any number of ways.

Hi Everyone! I hope you liked this week’s recipe choice. I stuck close to the original recipe and then also made pancake sandwiches with cherries and chocolate. Perfect breakfast/snack/dessert!

Great choice for this week’s recipe! Panini’s are one of my favorites!
Delicious recipe choice Margarita! This is a recipe I’ve been wanting to do something with for awhile! I made whole wheat Dark Chocolate Cherry and Pecan Brownies!

Great pick, Margarita! I’m really happy to know that I can make paninis at home without a fancy panini press. I made a strawberry, basil and goat cheese sandwich using Mark’s panino method and served it with a side of reduced balsamic honey sauce. Amazing! http://cookieandkate.com/2012/strawberry-basil-and-goat-cheese-panini/
Panini’s are one of my favorites, great choice Margarita! I made a Grilled Eggplant, Arugula, and Mozzarella Panini. http://laurajanelli.posterous.com/easy-panini-12650
I kept it simple and let the cherries and chocolate do the talking: http://tinyurl.com/buhv43e
I opted to skip the bread and just go with chocolate dipped fruit. Cherries were really expensive so I tried out other kinds, like watermelon.

We scaled it down to an open-faced mini-panini with a few topping choices like nutella, mascarpone, jam, fruit and nuts. Still got to use that panini press, though!

Unfortunately I am traveling and was unable to make the recipe. However, I ate a fabulous panini in Portland that I will be recreating when we get back….Swiss, Kale, and Apricot Jam Panini….droooool!

I am really busy writing seminar papers at the moment, but I just wanted to say that I will come back to this recipe and give it a try, I think I would have loved this pick!
I made “Chocolate Cherry Crunch Bites” using the dark chocolate and dried, sweetened sour cherries but adding brown rice crispies, some almond extract and touch of Mahlab, a Middle Eastern spice. Delish!

I had a glut of strawberries from the garden so I made a white chocolate strawberry panini. Thanks for the great recipe, I can’t wait to try some other sweet combinations!

Girl, have you read my mind lately? That is one yummy panini!
Thanks!
I ate too many of these while I was testing the recipe! They are addictive!
i love the fact that you have homegrown strawberries and i love the strawberry white chocolate combination! your panini pictures look so lovely too!
Thanks Margarita,
Great recipe, I never would have made a dessert panini if you hadn’t picked such a great recipe!
i kind of went off the path with this one and ended up with a berry and chocolate dotted banana bread. come see: http://simpleandamazing.blogspot.com/2012/06/food-matters-project-berries-chocolate.html
I made Chocolate, Cherry & Almond Bread Pudding. I found a low fat version in Eating Well Magazine that was great! Thanks Margarita!

Great choice Margarita! I actually ended up finishing off the chocolate I purchased to make this recipe about 20 minutes after I bought it. (Way too good.) So I substituted some cheese instead and made open-faced toasts under the broiler. http://foodandfrederick.com/2012/06/18/i-ate-all-the-chocolate/
I made chocolate-cherry-coconut no bake cookies! Incorporated healthy(er) ingredients like agave nectar for the sweetener and some chia seeds. Thanks for the dessert recipe, Margarita! I was wondering when one would appear

This was so easy, I had it for breakfast!!!

oops! blogged mine earlier, but forgot to add my comment here. I stuck with the panini idea, but switched the chocolate and cherry for cheddar and apple, It made a great lunch. http://joinmefordinner.wordpress.com/2012/06/18/apple-cheddar-panini/
Great choice Margarita! I ended up making a blueberry fudge as cherries are not in season here. http://www.mywholefoodromance.com/2012/06/pms-chocolate-and-blueberry-fudge.html
